A painting inspired by a lady called Violet and also the stunningly beautiful flower. I used 4 different images as inspiration and once again tried to capture the flowers emerging from darkness into the sunlight. Inspired by summer days in the hay fields this was my first in the series of dreamy flower images. What drew me to create this was the sharp flowers against blurred backgrounds. If you look closely you can spot the escaped flyaways from the Dandelion flower. Who else remembers blowing out these flowers in their childhood?

What I tried to evoke in this large painting were daisies emerging from the darkness as if from a dream.. Again a dreamy softness in the background with some flowers barely there merely hinted at, emerging out into focus and unveiling their beauty.

This painting was inspired bt the significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese Culture goes back hundreds of years, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It is a reminder that life is overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short.
